Stay positive. </strong> You can listen to the cynics and doubters and believe that <a href="http://www.guideposts.org/free-ebooks/paths-happiness-7-real-life-stories-personal-growth-self-improvement-and-positive-change" target="_blank">success</a> is impossible or you can know that with <a href="http://www.guideposts.org/hope-and-faith" target="_blank">faith</a> and an optimistic attitude all things are possible.  <strong>2. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement: </strong> My purpose is_______________________.  <strong>3. Take a morning walk of gratitude. </strong> I call it a “thank you walk.” It will create a fertile mind ready for success.  <strong>4. Instead of being disappointed about where you are&#8230;</strong> &#8230;think optimistically about where you are going.  <strong>5. Eat&#8230;</strong> &#8230;breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.  <strong>6. Remember that&#8230;</strong> &#8230;adversity is not a dead-end but a detour to a better outcome.  <strong>7. Focus on&#8230;</strong> &#8230;learning, loving, growing and serving.  <strong>8. Believe that everything happens for a reason</strong>. Expect good things to come out of challenging experiences.  <strong>9. Don&#8217;t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, <a href="http://www.guideposts.org/free-ebooks/positive-thinking-2011-rediscover-power-positive-thinking-norman-vincent-peale" target="_blank">negative thoughts</a> or things you cannot control. </strong> Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.  <strong>10. Mentor someone&#8230;</strong> &#8230;and be mentored by someone.  <strong>11. Live with the 3 E&#8217;s. </strong> Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy.  <strong>12. Remember&#8230;</strong> &#8230;there’s no substitute for hard work.  <strong>13. Zoom focus. </strong> Each day when you wake up in the morning ask: “What are the three most important things I need to do today that will help me create the success I desire?” Then tune out all the distractions and focus on these actions.  <strong>14. Implement the <a href="http://www.nocomplainingrule.com/" target="_blank">NoComplainingRule</a>. </strong> Complaining is like vomiting. Afterwards you feel better but everyone around you feels sick.  <strong>15. Read more books than you did in 2011. </strong> I happen to know of a few good ones!  <strong>16. Get more sleep. </strong> You can’t replace sleep with a double latte.  <strong>17. Focus on “Get to” vs “Have to.</strong>” Each day focus on what you get to do, not what you have to do. <p><em>Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an intensive eight-week course designed to transform your relationship with stress, improve your health, and increase enjoyment of life.</em></p>

It is a way to take charge of the direction and quality of our lives, including our relationships within the family, our relationship to work and to the larger world and planet, and most fundamentally, our relationship with ourselves as a person.” </em></strong><em>~ Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D.</em></p>
<h2><strong>Course Format</strong></h2>
<p>The MBSR program consists of eight weekly classes and one all-day class (held on a Saturday). Classes include: <strong>- Individual interview with each class participant &#8211; Mindfulness meditation practices</strong></p>
<p><strong>- Gentle stretching and simple yoga &#8211; Interactive exercises to elicit skills and qualities</strong></p>
<p><strong>of mindfulness &#8211; Readings, logs, and CD recordings to support</strong></p>
<p><strong>each aspect of the participantʼs home practice</strong></p>
<h2><strong>When</strong></h2>
<p>The classes will be 2 1/2 hours long and will meet on <strong><em>Tuesdays from 6-8:30 pm</em></strong>, with the first class being on <strong><em>September 20, 2011</em></strong>, and the last being on <strong><em>November 8, 2011</em></strong>. The all- day class/retreat will take place between classes 6 and 7.</p>

<p>The fee for this eight-week MBSR course is $450 ($400, if paid in full by September 13, 2011). Credit cards accepted for an additional fee. <p><strong>Kimberly LaRue</strong>, Mindfulness Coach, is a compassionate multi-faceted healer, teacher and speaker who applies the skills acquired over 30 years to facilitate personal healing and wholeness. Her passion is to introduce others to the innate wisdom of the body by fostering awareness; clearing embedded physical, energetic and mental patterns and imparting techniques and practices that expand mind/body integration.	The primary modalities of Kimberlyʼs work are MBSR, Yoga, CranioSacral (CST) and Massage Therapy in conjunction with with Hypnotherapy and Guided Visualization.</p>
<p>Having completed intensive professional instruction in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with senior faculty at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, including the Practicum in MBSR, and MBSR in Mind-Body Medicine with Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Kimberly is a daily practitioner of mindfulness meditation and yoga. She has experienced the benefits of mindfulness in her own life, and witnessed remarkable transformations in her MBSR graduates.</p>

<p>Hello Meditators of South Florida. Mark your calendars! On <strong>Saturday, July 23rd, from 5:00pm-6:00pm</strong>, there will be a public meditation (a <strong>Meditation Mob</strong>) near downtown West Palm Beach. It will take place <em>on the plaza in CityPlace &#8211; </em>in front of the fountains. Please tell everyone you know who would like to experience the benefits of meditation.</p>
<p>The intention of this movement, called <strong>MedMob</strong>, is to expose the world to meditation and create a global community of people from all walks of life coming together to create and expand positivity.<br />
MedMob started in Austin, in January, with 60 people meditating at the Texas State Capitol and now it is a world-wide movement with monthly meditations, some cities having over 250 people.</p>
